Birgi Martin

Birgi Martin, Ph.D. is the Research Development Director at Lightspeed Research, a member of the Kantar Group, the Insight, Information and Consultancy Arm of WPP. He is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s global research development initiatives aimed at helping companies make better decisions by leveraging Lightspeed Research’s interactive research solutions.

Trained initially in mechanical engineering, Birgi pursued his Ph.D. in Marketing at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. He also conducted graduate studies at the MIT Sloan School of Management and Harvard Business School. Prior to joining Lightspeed Research, he worked as a consultant with GEA Management Consulting, product manager at Ford Motor Company, and research fellow at the eBusiness Research Center at the Pennsylvania State University and the Center for Digital Business at MIT.

He is a Communications Committee member of the IMRO Board and a member of the ARF Online Research Quality Initiative, and published and presented in a variety of venues including major market research industry conferences and journals.
