The Journal of Online Research (JOR) is a publication of the Interactive Marketing Research Organization (IMRO) . The JOR is a forum through which the online research industry may exchange ideas and best practices information. The JOR seeks to be a living archive of documented findings stemming from the professional study of research in online, interactive and computer-mediated environments. The JOR is published solely in electronic, Web-based format.
The content available on the JOR supports IMRO’s primary non-profit educational mission. The JOR is a source of fast-breaking data and opinion regarding “what works” in the rapidly changing world of online marketing research.
There are several different formats through which authors will share their findings with the professionals in the industry. Articles are shorter pieces that present findings from applied studies of various online research phenomena. Papers provide more in-depth study of topics and more references in a more rigorously reviewed format.
The JOR is published for practitioners and educators who are interested in real-world studies and tests of effectiveness of the countless variables making up the components of online research design and implementation. Because both the market for online research and technology used to produce it are in such a rapid state of flux, the emphasis is on presenting fast-breaking data in applied rather than theoretical areas.
The JOR is run entirely by volunteers from the marketing research community. An editorial board governs the long-term planning of JOR and its role in the research community.
JOR publishes papers, articles, commentary and interviews written by members of the online research community, and encourages readers to submit their work for consideration. The author(s) will be responsible for choosing which form the submission will take. Papers tend to be longer and present more in-depth discussion of the research-on-research procedures, and will be held to a higher editorial review standard than articles. Papers should not exceed 20 pages (using the JOR Paper Template format), including abstracts and references; articles should not exceed 10 pages.

JOR is published three times a year in March, June and October.
